Romania

It was only a quick visit to Romania just to see my dad, grandparents, and aunt and uncle. It was a whirlwhind tour around the country and I am lucky that my dad was able to take some time off and that I came around a weekend. It was so nice to them - sadly it is not frequent enough.

Romania has really changed for the better in the past few years and it is even quite noticeable over the past 4 years since I last came. Consequently it has also gone up significantly in price! It is almost the same price to eat and sleep as back home. At the airport a bag of chips and a bottle of water cost me $7!! Mititei is around $0.75 per piece. I am wondering how people can afford to live as the salaries are still a bit lower than in the rest of Europe, but they have definitely gone up as well.
