Cappadocia

This is the farthest east I have ever been in Turkey and it was quite different here. The caves were carved into stone as long as 4000 years ago if I recall and they were used primarily as homes. They were later used as churches by early and middle age Christians. One of the coolest things I saw was the underground city - used as far back as the Hittites!! It is just amazing how many cultures have passed through this part of the world.
