Manila, Philippines (January)
Yep - all food here - that is what you do in Manila. Finally had Jollibee, and no, I didn't like it as much as Anthony Bourdain did!
Shanghai and Hangzhou (January)
I survived both the threat of cute robots as well as taking the train during Chinese New Year!
Munich / München, Germany (March)
A short work trip allowed me the chance to finally visit the home of my favourite beer (Erdinger), as well as visit my second favourite thermal baths (after Iceland), Therme Erding! Sadly no pictures allowed inside (for obvious reasons).
Gunma Prefecture / 群馬県, Japan (May)
Beautiful nature and splendid hot springs, courtesy of a good friend - tagged onto the end of another trip to Japan. Notable highlights include Kusatsu Onsen / 草津温泉 and Manza Onsen / 万座温泉 (super sulfuric).
San Francisco, USA (May)
A quick business development trip in advance of an offsite in SoCal. Oh how I missed good Mexican food.
San Diego, USA (May)
First time in one of the meccas of drug discovery and biotechnology. Fell in love with jacaranda trees, which I somehow did not get any photos of!
