Siam Reap, Cambodia

Getting to Cambodia was a trip and a half. The visa and transit to the border was nothing special but we ditched the bus as we didn't want to wait for 2 hours on top of a 6 hour drive. The taxi we rented was driven by a mad mud rally star who had decided to pick up a few things (and his girlfriend) on the way to Siam Reap. Great fun. I will never forget the feeling of going 110 km/h on a crater filled mud road. 2 tire changes!

Siam Reap itself was surprisingly laid back and nice. Many good restaurants and cafes. The hotel we stayed at was in itself a mini-resort for a ridiculously low price. Happy pizza is .. well.. happy. Temples of Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom were just breathtaking and the steep stairs were a little precarious at best (as was the bike ride through no-rules Cambodian traffic).
