This part of the road trip was relatively relaxed, as I had to catch up a bit on work, and prepare for some business travel elsewhere in Europe that wasn't nearly as beautiful scenery-wise.
The time was spent entirely within the Province of Tarragona within Catalonia. It is a relatively quiet place, and its eponymously named capital, felt like a miniature sleepier version of Barcelona (and of course much more affordable).
A few memorable moments:
1) Stopping in OrganyĆ along on the way to Tarragona from Andorra where I kid you not - 15 euros bought a 3 course meal and a choice of drink, which I assumed was a glass - no, a bottle.
2) Having the best meal full stop (and best value) of my trip at L’Alkimista in Reus, and where I began to discover that vermouth wasn't just something that went in a Manhattan.
3) Stopping in Salou for a last bit of beach walking before heading north into the cold.
4) Being disappointed that the Christmas markets in Tarragona did not have food, only nativity decorations :).
