I was originally debating whether to include this post or not given I generally don't consider domestic destinations as travel, but given Quebec's special status within Canada, figured this could serve as an exception.
Quebec City is like stepping into a small piece of old France. One of the oldest cities in North America, and one of the few with actual city walls, it's a beautiful and quite romantic destination that I regret having not visited since childhood. Wonderful people, food, and culture make for a great break from the hectic life in Toronto.

This is a city where you can still great care, and evidence of artisanship in the remotest of corners, in addition to this general joie de vivre and made just walking around for hours on end quite satisfying and fulfilling.
Getting out of Quebec city you can find a lot of natural beauty, and examples of old Quebecois and Canadian heritage; sugar shacks, log cabin hotels, aboriginal villages, and more.
