Singapore II (12/30/08-01/05/09)

It was a little strange coming back to Singapore after only 3 months, but there’s a reason for this. After my first visit, I was wide-eyed and optimistic about the career prospects in my particular niche, and had proactively booked my return from there for my China Study Trip. In the time between my plane ticket being booked and the trip beginning I had unfortunately changed my mind. Given I was going to be there anyways, I had figured it’d be worthwhile to just treat it as a nice place to vacation. As a consequence, I did no business and decided not to arrange any meetings for that purpose. What I did do was enjoy the nice hotel, located in Clarke Quay, the beach, and the nightlife. It was great hanging out with my old friend Rex, and counting down the New Year amidst thousands of people. Also saw some new places like the MacRitchie Trail and Arab Street. After spending two weeks in total in Singapore it almost felt like a second home, which is quite peculiar considering it’s ONLY two weeks. Perhaps this means that one day I will live here – who knows - I feel the same way about San Francisco, after all.
