As a final post for 2013 (it only took me 4 months to catch up - getting better!), here's more US travel. Like 2012 (and 2011), I travel down south for work quite frequently and stumble across interesting things once in a while. Unlike the prior year, had a chance to go more west (but not quite San Francisco - that's 2014).
Anyway, here's a brief selection from:
Lancaster County, PA - famous for its Amish and Mennonite communities, as well as Hershey!
Chicagoland, IL - downtown and surrounding suburbs - spent time with my mentor after corporate training
Philadelphia, PA - where I gained true appreciation of Ben Franklin, and was underwhelmed by yet another celebrity chef
Martha's Vineyard, Cape Cod and Newport, RI - supremely relaxing road trip with friends
Boston, MA - caught the tail end of the marathon tragedy among many trips here
Annapolis, MD - had 6 hours to burn between a client meeting and flight
Chantilly, VA - same thing
Baltimore, MD - hanging out with a close friend after a client meeting
Denver, CO - finally experienced what my friends were raving about for years - and caught up with an old friend from undergrad
Indianapolis, IN - a frequent work destination, but what was unique was my visit overlapped GenCon - the largest gaming conference in the world(?)
